We critique those we care about?

Do you believe that we are at times overly critical of those that we care about? My friend stopped talking to me for a month because I criticized him about some things. He thinks that there's no point in talking to someone who thinks so "negatively" of him. What he doesn't realize is that I don't think negatively of him - yes I do see his flaws but just because I pointed them out, makes me worthy of dropping as a friend? Does this make sense? Why did he react the way that he did?

Jacks are a cichlid and they can be very aggressive towards other fish. Their tank mates need to be as aggressive as they are or they will be picked upon. The blood red parrot fish is a cross between a Jack and something else. They are very aggressive, and will kill smaller fish. Bala sharks are a hard fish to keep because they need their water to be almost perfect. If you plan on having cichlids then stay with cichlids that are just as aggressive as they are or can be.

We had a big political conversation and she's convinced that Palin is the best politician ever. I watch politics and she doesn't, I know about Palin. I think my gf is just attracted to a folksy woman and good political actor(like a lot of American's who fall for that crap). I've noticed that my gf is not a critical thinker who can look outside the box or break away of the mainstream media/trends/beliefs. Not saying she's dumb, more like naive.

Help with boyfriend..I am asking more mature audience :)?

My boyfriend is critical of me... He used to not be when he was "courting me"... Now he's very harsh and critical... At the beginning of our relationship he helped me with money and such but not he doesnt..We have dated a year.. and my life is haywire right now bc I am in despair with money and surviving... He tells me options and thats about it... does he love me? I asked him why he's so critical he said "if I wasn't then I'd worry that I wasn't in love with you".... even though he is critical of people he does not know.. He also told my GF one time when I said why is he so critical of me in front of him.. He said bc she is my GF and she is almost perfect isnt she??? Men you are much more knowledgeable help me out as well.

what would it be like to live in a community where critical thinking is illegal? What would the risks/benefits of such a life be? how would the people remedy grievances, solve problems, plan for the future, evaluate options, and pursue their individual and joint purposes?

Any Southerners know of al's bbq sauce?

When I was in Tennessee, I asked for a recipe to a dish, they said they used Al's Barbecue sauce.They said it was a southern thing, and I would probably have to get it there. I went to the local store on the way out of town in pigeon Forge, and asked the local market if they carried it, they said no, they used to though. I thought, ok, i'll just find it online. All I can find online is Big Al's BBQ sauce. Do you think that is the one they meant? Any help appreciated. Thanks.
