Who wouldn't love the sound of an archangel's name? : ) I lived many years in New Mexico and Southern California, where this name is very familiar, and I have always liked it. I've never heard anyone use a nickname for Raphael-which is nice. I think that your question will be answered very differently according to where an individual lives.
